In the guise of more details I'll give you the gist of how it went the first time: most of us showed up right on time (though it was 1:00pm CST on a Saturday) and we had our mics working fairly well, though no one used video...Some people were a bit quiet, others of us were pretty vocal. We didn't have any real thing to talk about, so if you really wanna discuss something specific just put it on the table and you're set. Someone ended up showing up a couple hours late, and most of us stuck around in excess of two hours, if I recall correctly. None of us referred to each other by name, which was strange.
Skype is a pretty straightforward program, and you can even test out your mic settings on it. Depending on which OS and version of Skype you're using, you can also chat via typing (i.e. a chatroom) while engaging in voice/video chat. The only hitches we had were bringing people in the chat and getting the room to work consistently. Basically you do a conference call and you're set--and if you have the latest version of Skype and you initiate the conference call, you'll have the chatroom open as well (as I mentioned before).
Well that's it; see you there.
